Privacy Policy
GeoScan Australia Pacific Pty Ltd (ACN 663 163 933) (“GeoScan”, “we”) is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how we handle personal information.
What we collect. When you contact us or use our enquiry form we collect your name, organisation, email address, phone number, country, project details and any files you choose to upload, such as KML, KMZ, ZIP or PDF survey boundaries. When you visit the site we collect technical data through cookies and Google Analytics, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed and time on site.
Why we collect it. We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare survey proposals, deliver contracted services, manage our client relationships and improve the website. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with. We share information only where needed to respond to you or deliver a project. This includes our technology partners GeoScan GmbH (Germany) and CC Explorations (United States), our IT, hosting and email providers, and professional advisers. Some of these recipients are overseas, including in Germany, the European Union and the United States. Before disclosing information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Storage and security. Website files are stored with Amazon Web Services in Sydney. Enquiry submissions are held in our website database and email system. We use access controls, two-factor authentication and encrypted connections. We keep enquiry information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law.
Cookies. We use essential cookies to run the site and analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can decline analytics cookies through the banner or your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom. If the GDPR applies to you, our lawful bases are your consent (analytics cookies, uploads) and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Access, correction and complaints. You may ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. Email info@geoscanauspac.com or write to the Privacy Officer, Level 38, 71 Eagle Street, Brisbane QLD 4000. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes. We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
